With direct guidance from a Mobius consultant, clients learn a wide range of immediately applicable theater-based techniques that highlight these attributes. By tapping into their own ingenuity and humor, they learn to create unique and unforgettable presentations.

Cultivating a powerful vocal and physical presence
Just as important as what people say is what they communicate nonverbally. Posture, facial expressions, gestures, and other habits of speaking exert a strong influence upon any audience. Listeners also respond to the quality of a person’s voice, whether it’s steady or shaky, resonant or strained. These traits can either reinforce or undermine the speaker’s message, conveying confidence or insecurity. As clients address these physical and vocal tensions with a Mobius consultant, they gain a strong sense of being centered in their bodies, achieve greater vocal freedom and clarity, find ease in communicating complex ideas, and shift their listeners’ focus away from their speaking habits and onto their speech.

Connecting and engaging with an audience
Communication is most effective when the speaker feels deeply connected to the people around them. That sense of dynamic engagement is always available, whether a person is addressing a single individual or a crowded auditorium. As our clients develop an actor’s ability to read an audience, they begin to respond adaptively to their listeners, capturing their interest and attention. Nervousness or self-consciousness diminishes, and both the speaker and the audience can simply enjoy the process.

We currently offer presence and presentation consulting in two formats:

Speechmaking intensive (1–2 days). This program is designed for those preparing a formal presentation (or series of presentations) and seeking to make optimal progress in a short period of time. The work is tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals, which may include generating and refining ideas, speaking with greater confidence and conviction, reducing nervousness and tension, or creating a strong connection with an audience. An excellent option for long-distance clients.
Fee: $1200 for 1 day (5–6 hours), $2100 for 2 days.

One-on-one coaching (3–9 months). This flexible structure allows for more in-depth work to address ongoing obstacles and incorporate a wide range of client interests. The program is fully customized, providing the ideal format, schedule, and content focus to achieve each individual’s objectives for voice, presence, and formal presentation.
Fee: $3600 for each 3-month quarter (includes once-a-week coaching, homework, preparation, and follow-up).
