Mobius Corporate Trainings

Mobius offers world-class training in negotiation, conflict resolution, communication and leadership development.

In today’s workplace, few skills are as critical to employees and managers of all levels as those in negotiation, managing conflict, and working well together. And yet, surprisingly few professionals have experienced actual training in these areas. In a range of formats, including one-day, two-day, and longer-term programs, Mobius offers clients a chance to build capacity and improve results by providing these professional development opportunities.

In our Negotiation Essentials series, clients learn the fundamentals of negotiating well. They learn how to think about negotiation, what success means, common pitfalls, and how to address difficult tactics. In the two-day and longer programs, participants learn other critical skills, including how to create more value in a deal and how to know when to walk away from the table. In a short amount of time, these courses provide the frameworks and skills clients need to act more effectively and produce better outcomes, from improving the bottom line to strengthening strategic relationships. This series includes: Negotiation Essentials; Creating Value; Beyond Winning: Negotiation for Lawyers; and Beyond Yes: Negotiation Mastery .

In our Transforming Conflict series, Mobius experts teach clients the basics of organizational conflict resolution. Participants learn to recognize the range of typical conflict styles, including their own general modes of engagement. They examine the benefits and costs of avoiding conflict, a very typical barrier in organizational life to resolving issues effectively and efficiently. This series explores internal negotiations within companies, looking at best practices for engaging conflict with a coworker, resolving issues and making decisions within teams, and managing up as well as managing direct reports. Practice includes general simulations and application sessions from the client context, with attention to giving difficult feedback and assisting colleagues in a dispute to resolve a problem. This series includes Resolving Conflict (with an emphasis on mediating between employees), Mediating Between Stakeholders, and Mediation for HR Professionals.

Our Savvy Communication offerings shed light on the mystery of why communication often fails at the workplace. Using time-proven methods, these courses break down the ambiguity of difficult communication and offer simple, comprehensive frameworks for understanding it. Participants learn how to recognize precisely why they get stuck and what causes meetings and team collaborations to break down. In a fun and highly interactive learning environment, Savvy Communication courses pave the way for ease and efficiency in conversations within a business. This series includes SAVI® Communication, Masterful Conversations, and Empathy and Assertiveness. In addition, Mobius can provide intact executive teams with analysis of their communication patterns and consultative coaching on improving team work.

Beyond these basic offerings, Mobius also offers customized Advanced Education Programs in all of the areas described above. With the foundation of the basic courses, Mobius works with clients to build higher-level and deeper capacity in negotiation, conflict resolution, or business communication. These courses are tailored to the contexts and particular needs of our clients. Executive-Level Programs in negotiation and communication are facilitated exclusively by Mobius Principals and Senior Consultants. These intensive programs bring together a small group (maximum 8) with two facilitators for a day-long coaching session.

In addition to our primary one- and two-day formats, we also offer the Mobius Talks series, where senior instructors offer presentations at annual meetings and corporate conferences on any of the above topics.

Mobius Leadership Programs

In keeping with our commitment to the success and well-being of professionals, Mobius offers a unique and path-breaking approach to leadership development. We believe that leaders excel through the acquisition of classical elements such as professional skills and experience, combined with attention to character, professional mission, and life purpose. In today’s world, more than ever, leaders need clarity and focus on the meaning and vision of what they do, as well as the motivation of bottom-line goals for growing, sustaining, or reviving a business.

Mobius Leadership Programs come in a range of formats. These programs are customized to client needs and designed together with the client.

Leading in Transition is one of our shorter programs and is available for organizations going through a change process. The course is intended as an opportunity for peer colleagues to step back and reflect on the changes going on with regard to the impact on human capital — that is, the effect on themselves and the people around them. In situations such as a re-organization, a merger or acquisition, a sudden or significant change in leadership, or dramatic growth, leaders often give short shrift to addressing the particular challenges of managing change. This program assists leaders in understanding and recognizing specific leadership challenges such as helping employees to perform under conditions of uncertainty and guiding professionals to cope with the toll and strain of change. In the longer format, attention is also given to the well-being of the executives (see elements of the Mobius Leadership Intensive) by assisting them to unwind and re-fuel to face the ongoing challenges ahead.

Building Your Leadership Bench
Building the leadership bench of your company is an enormously important ingredient to long-term success. Part of the process involves increasing the technical or knowledge competence of individuals as they gain experience in the business. Another aspect, often left until late in the process, is development of a person’s ability to manage human assets. This begins with the capacity to manage others and evolves to include skill at managing oneself. Long-term success in professional leadership — what we call Leadership Health — requires expertise in both of these critical arenas.

Mobius offers a unique three-part series designed to be experienced over the course of nine months. This series, Building Your Leadership Bench, is offered in two tracks: Emerging Leaders and Executive Leaders. In both tracks, the innovative process allows leaders to take stock of their skills and limitations, to reflect deeply about their goals, path and purpose, and to gain critical skills at understanding people and how to manage them. Mobius also offers special seminars designed to address the unique needs of women executives.

In addition to these leadership programs, Mobius sponsors a 20-hour Leadership Intensive at the Babson Center for Executive Education. Participants in the Intensive learn to bring greater balance, focus, and vitality to their personal and professional lives. In a beautiful, natural setting, Mobius faculty combine executive training on a wide range of leadership and communication issues with an in-depth assessment of overall health, energy level, and well-being. Guided by extensive diagnostic work completed in advance, the Intensive faculty designs a personalized leadership curriculum and comprehensive health program for each client. Participants return to work renewed and revitalized. Our coaching services enhance Mobius training events to foster ongoing professional development and sustainable lifestyle change.

Mobius Organization Building Consulting Practice

Mobius Executive Leadership takes a comprehensive approach to organizational consultation. Our Organization Building Practice Group works with companies at all stages in the growth cycle to understand their current reality and help them map their path to future vision. Building an organization provides enormous opportunity as well as significant challenges. From developing a leadership bench and convening large annual meetings to managing wide-scale change and intervening in crisis, organization building presents situations that require thoughtful reflection and wise strategic action.

Mobius Coaching

Mobius offers a variety of coaching services for executives and emerging leaders. Coaching is provided by seasoned business coaches supplemented by a team of qualified health care professionals. Coaching contracts can be short- or long-term and are offered via telephone or in person. Mobius also provides consulting in specific leadership domains, including presence and public speaking coaching, somatic coaching, and women’s leadership.

Mobius Health Immersion

Mobius Executive Leadership has a strong focus on workforce health and fitness. In addition to integrating wellness-related services into leadership trainings, Mobius has created a specialized program dedicated exclusively to health enhancement. The Mobius Health Immersion couples a transformational day of health consultation and intervention with six months of ongoing coaching designed to support participants in making vitalizing lifestyle changes. Immersion faculty address issues of pain, injury, exercise, nutrition, recreation, and work/life balance.
